The National Engineering Center (NEC), established in 1978 under P.D. 1295, is part of the University of the Philippines. It is the extension arm of the U.P. College of Engineering where industry, government agencies, and academic institutions can turn to for solutions to their engineering problems.
NEC is mandated to strengthen and ensure a steady supply of technical manpower in the various fields of engineering and develop technologies which utilize indigenous resources and are appropriate to the needs of local industries.
In line with this vision and mandate, the NEC offers the following services: continuing engineering education; tehcnical consultancy; research and evelopment; and publications and engineering information.
